Safe Explorer is a 2-hour, e-learning course exclusively designed for people over 60. The course includes six modules plus an introduction and conclusion. These modules include:

 

  • Understanding Your Travel Risks: Knowing where you are safe; situational and self awareness and how to defuse aggression.
  • Pre-Travel Planning: Emergency contacts; insurance; health; money; laws; travel documents; communication; and packing.
  • Travel Health & Wellbeing: Why travel health and wellbeing matter; basic travel health; when to seek medical care; travelling with chronic medical conditions; handling medical emergencies when travelling.
  • Safe Travel & Transport: Using air travel, road travel, public transportation, walking, and cruise ships safely.
  • Safe Accommodation: Safety tips when booking accommodation; safety on arrival; safety during your stay.
  • When Something Goes Wrong: Immediate actions in an emergency; emergency scenarios; the role of the embassy; handling insurance claims.

 

After you complete the course a completion certificate will be emailed to you.
